Patricia Ann (McCarville) Ratz, Age 85, of Hiawatha, IA passed away at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital on Saturday, November 13, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom on Tuesday, November 16, from 4 to 6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 17 at 10:30 AM with Father Mark Murphy presiding. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Patricia was born on July 16, 1936 in Lourdes, IA. She was the daughter of the late, Leo and Theresa (Reynolds) McCarville. On June 15, 1957, Patricia married the love of her life, Donald Ratz in Cresco, IA. She loved going to the casinos, she was an avid fan of College Basketball and the Chicago Cubs. She also loved playing cards, sitting by a fire, and spending time with friends and family.
Those left to cherish Patricia’s memory are her children, Paul (Jana) Ratz of Naperville, IL, Julie (Mike) Krause, of Chandler, AZ, and James (Karen) Ratz of Hiawatha, IA; her grandchildren, Courtney (Joseph) Gryczewski, Colin, Colten, Jake, and Jordan; her siblings, David (Donita) McCarville, of Waterloo, IA, Dale (Becky) McCarville, of Cedar rapids, and Jean Ann (Bob) Milne, of Cedar Rapids, IA. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents, and her siblings, Leland, Donald, and infant brother Robert McCarville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Ed and Joan Hemphill Inpatient Hospice Unit, the UnityPoint St. Luke’s Foundation or the American Heart Association.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital, especially nurse Karen for all of the love and support that they have shown Patricia while she was in their care.
