Joan Ruth Bahm, 84, of Marion, Iowa passed away peacefully with her three daughters, her twin sister and niece by her side, after a two-year battle with Cancer. Per her wishes, there will be no services.
Joan was born to Clifford and Ferne (Lane) Cayler. Joan was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Joan retired after twenty years as a secretary at Starry Elementary School in the Marion Independent School District and continued as a substitute after her retirement.
She loved working in her flower gardens, reading, shopping, and being a part of the production of family films. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Donald, her parents, her two brothers Richard and Gaylen Cayler, and two nephews.
Survivors include her daughters Melinda (J) Myers, Melissa (Brian) Lawrence, and Melody (Steven) Smith; grandchildren Scott Alderson, Stacey (Steve) Straub, Kyle Lawrence, Ariel (Kyle) Pogue, Evan Smith, and Colby Kaplan; sister Janet Boyer; brother Jim (Ann) Cayler; sister-in-law Linda (John) Berthot; along with four great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
