Larry L. Stotler, 79 of Marion died Tuesday May 4, 2021 at the Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha. A private family service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Larry Stotler, under the video tab starting at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Entombment with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of facemasks or shields is required.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda, three daughters Wendy Hedlund, of Marion, Stephanie (Aaron) McArthur of Central City, and Rhonda (Tony) Elm of Marion; a son David Edge of Ely and a sister Sharon Hruska of Georgia. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Larry was born on October 9, 1941 in Oak Park, Illinois the son of Vernon and Margaret (Wilson) Stotler. He married Wanda Kay Hartman on May 31, 1980 in Marion.
Larry worked in the publishing dept. at Rockwell for over 34 years, retiring in 1996. He had been a former member of the Corvette Club and enjoyed playing golf, card and board games, hunting, and fishing. Larry and Wanda also enjoyed their Harley Davidson, classic cars, and going to classic car shows with family and friends.
Larry proudly served in the Navy and had the privilege of going on the Honor Flight to Washington DC. taking his grandson Darin as an escort in 2018. Larry will forever be remembered as a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center or the Mercy Hospice House in Larry’s name.
