Sylvia Rose Parry, 67, Marion, died Tuesday March 2, 2021 in St. Luke’s Hospital from complications with liver and kidney disease for the past 3 years. Sylvia wishes were cremation with no services. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivor’s include her husband of 45 years, Roger Parry, their son, Nicholas Parry, her granddaughters, Riley and Preston, her brother in law, Dennis Parry, her sisters, Sandy (Gary) Feaker and Susan (Larry) Wagamon, her brother, Robert (Coleen) Lathrop, and her step-father, Robert Steuber, several nieces, nephews and her dachshund Herky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Bob, and her in laws, Irvin and Marie Parry.
Sylvia was born August 6, 1953 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Levy) Lathrop. She graduated from Jefferson High School and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Upon graduation she worked for Life-Investors. Sylvia operated a daycare in her home for several years and later worked for Target Store in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed winning at the slot machines at the casinos. Sylvia was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, loved shopping and enjoyed a girls night out with her friends. A special thanks to Susie Taylor, Johnine Schaffer, and Karen Borchert. A special gratitude to Cathy Ryan for all her gifts of love.
