Doris Jean Anderson, 87, of Keystone Cedars of Cedar Rapids, passed away March 8, 2021 from a short illness (not COVID-19 related). A public visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family funeral service will take place Friday, March 12, 2021 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion with a graveside service following. A lifelong Iowa resident, Doris was born in Coggon on July 16, 1933 to Edward and Viola (Paulsen) Zumbach. She married Raymond Anderson in June, 1955. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion, where she participated in the Comforting Hands Quilt Club.  She retired from Sears in 1998 after 26 years of service.  In her retirement years, she enjoyed reading and quilting and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan.  She was especially passionate about basketball, both college and professional.

Surviving Doris are six children, Alan Anderson (Diane Brittain) of Overland Park, KS, Steven (Cindy) Anderson of Altoona, IA, Kevin (Chris) Anderson of Independence, MO, Kimberly (Mike) Richardt, Debbie (Scott) Bemer and Jeff (Lisa) Anderson, all of Cedar Rapids.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Aaron Anderson, Nicholas (Amber) Anderson, Zachary Richardt, Nichole Richardt and Callie Bemer as well as one sister, Carol (Pete) Hanssen Ponder.  

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Roger Zumbach.
