Dale Edwin Netz, Age 94 of Marion, IA passed away at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, July 13th surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation will be held at the Church of the King on Sunday, July 18, from 1 PM until service time at 3 PM with the Pastor Chris Slama officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Eternal Love on Monday, July 19, at 10 AM.
Dale was born on January 14, 1927 in Kenna, New Mexico. He was the son of the late Carl and Fannie (Tidquist) Netz. On September 14, 1946 he married Betty Johnson. Dale married his second wife Sally Frederick. Dale served in the US Navy during WWII as a Seaman 2nd Class on the USS South Dakota. After his service, Dale worked in construction for many years until his retirement in 1995.
Those left to cherish Dale’s memory are his children, Linda (George) Hopkins of Orange, TX, Peggy Krizek of Fort Worth, TX, Tracy (Warren) Engelbart of Marion, IA, Kelly (Sean) Smith of Loveland, CO, Larry (Cora) Netz of Central City, IA, and Sharon (Douglas) Deklotz of Atkins, IA; 26 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty and his second wife Sally.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Church of the King.
