Gary J. Walsh, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with visitation one hour prior to the service. A livestream of the service will be available on the Cedar Memorial website under Gary’s obituary, under the video tab starting on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Garden of Tranquility.
He was born on October 2, 1946, in Cresco, Iowa to John and Amelia (Melcher) Walsh.
He graduated from Crestwood High School. Upon graduation, Gary honorably joined the United States Army from 1965- 1968, serving in Vietnam. Gary was united in marriage to Jeanette Milbach on August 1, 1970. He was employed at Wilsons, Harnischfeger, and General Mills during their 51 years of marriage.
He enjoyed eagle watching, fishing, lighthouses, attending races, and maintaining a perfect lawn. He cherished time spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Walsh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter, Tammy (Mike) Hibel of Port Orange, Florida; sons, Dan (Gina) Walsh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jon (Angie) Walsh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Taylor Hibel, Morgan Hibel, Andie Walsh, Karleigh Walsh, Isaiah Holtz, Amelia Walsh; brothers, Dean (Julie) Walsh of Cresco, Iowa, Keith Walsh of Decorah, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Michael.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in care of Jeanette Walsh.
