Kim Van Dao, 99, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was born on October 10, 1921 in Mu'O'Ng Bum, Lai Chau, Vietnam. He enjoyed music, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dao Van Phin and Lo Thi Luong, his beloved wife Ginh T. Dao and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Those left to cherish his memories include 4 sons and 5 daughters. Ting and Family, Tang and Family daughters from Vietnam. Deng Visek/Curt Visek from Evans, Georgia. Oh, Tang/Latadavanh Dao from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Thu Dao Vivanh/Dit Vivanh, Lanuni Dao Lo/Sy Lo from Des Moines, Iowa. Hoa/Ratsamy and Dong from West Des Moines, Iowa. He had 22 grandkids and 27 great grandkids in the United States and in Vietnam.
A private funeral service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, IA. A livestream of the service can be viewed starting at 2:00pm on November 28, 2020, at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/59042198. A private entombment will follow in the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
