My apologies for being so late with this, and my deepest condolences to all of Jim's family for this loss. Jim was always so very nice to all. I met him at Iowa Electric in 1980 when I started there in 1980 right out of college (sorry - ISU). After getting to know Jim I would regularly poke fun at him by reminding him there is no such thing as a "civil" engineer to which he always chuckled. I also got him to laugh whenever I asked why in the world any sane adult would hit a little white ball as far as they could, do it again and again until they got it into a little hole. Then repeat that 17 more times. He would put his arm around me and simply say that he would get me out there and show me why - one of the few things Jim never quite accomplished. I can honestly say my heart suck when I read this obituary, but clearly Jim had a wonderful life surrounded by so much love and wonderful people.

A class act! Kind, considerate and able. With a chortle of a laugh and a widening grin, oh how wonderful if we were more like Jim! May all the angels, Saints, Holy men and Holy women gather Jim into God’s eternal Grace.

Working with Jim was always a pleasure. Among the projects was refurbishing the hydro plant at Anamosa. Cheerful and willing to listen so he could help were always what Jim brought to the effort. My sympathies to the family.

I just learned of Jim's passing. I am deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Condolences to his family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I worked with Jim for many years at Iowa Electric, etc. He was a great guy.

My condolences to Jim, Staci and family. Prayers to you all!

Sincere condolences to Jim’s family. Jim and my paths crossed many times over the past 50+ years; KC bowling league, KC golf league, Loras reunions and finally work at Iowa Electric. Rest In Peace Schlitz, oops, I mean Schiltz.

On Friday morning, I lost my grandpa. He was one of the most selfless and kind souls I was lucky enough to be blessed with. I’ll never forget all the memories I had with him and how much he would light up when we would come to visit. He was a role model to me and such a positive light in this world. I can’t describe how tough these past few days have been knowing he is gone and I miss him dearly. Papa, I love you so much, rest easy in heaven with Grandma Teresa.
