Kathy, Emily, Beth and Families We just found out over the weekend of Dave's passing. He and you all endured this devastating illness that has no boundaries and takes away so much. All the fun times on Iris Ave. came to mind and made it seem shorter than 28 years ago that we moved away. Please know that our thoughts and prayers for comfort, peace and healing are with you all and his Erusha family. We so enjoyed our time as neighbors and especially his great fun-loving personality.

Kathy: Please accept my sincere condolences in the loss of your husband and my good friend David. As I look back I shall always remember and cherish our friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these difficult times. Most sincerely, Gary Sauser

Dear Kathy, So sorry for the loss of your loved one David. I knew David and his family from way back at St. Ludmila's in Cedar Rapids. We bought our first house from his Dad Vernon. May David Rest In Peace with the rest of his heavenly family. Sincerely, Marcia (Porazil) Solem, Lasalle H.S. classmate 69.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during your time of loss and grief. May his memory always be eternal.

You and David were some of the best people I met through the HABIT program. We had so much fun in Yoga and David was an exceptional Yogi! Peace to you Kathy and family.

Kathy, my condolences to you and your family.

Kathy and Family: Our Deepest Sympathies In a celebration of Life, Dave was always a challenge to play against (Wash vs. Jeff), a thrill to play with (Legion, Town Teams, and ISU Cyclones), and a can-do Defense Contractor colleague and teammate (Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems with Rockwell Collins). Always making a difference... Neil and Jenny Kacena Valencia, CA 27 May 2020

Kathy, Emily and Beth. I extend the deepest sympathies from the Hingtgen family to you and your family. We had the fortunate opportunity to become close friends with Dave and his family during the years that our kids attended St. Judes and LaSalle High School together. We fondly recall the many memories we had of those years and all of the good times we shared. Dave's humor, infectious laugh and positive outlook at life was the reason those years brought us so much happiness. We miss those years and more importantly miss the joy and happiness that was Dave. We believe that he is now in a happy place and continuing to spread his joy. Our prayers are with you.

Kathy and family- Jack and I send our condolences to you. I know how hard these last few years have been. Dementia steals so much away. I think of David's joyful recollections of sharing boat rides on Lake Minnetonka with you and the grandkids as well as play sessions in the back yard.

Kathy, Emily and Beth (and your entire family), my deepest sympathy to each of you. While viewing the funeral Mass today, Emily”s description of her dad was exactly the type of person he was. I remember my interview with him for the Admin position at R/C back in 1980. Finding out we lived one block away from each other in Cedar Rapids was quite a surprise but very convenient when needing to drop off work related items for Dave. So many memories over the 30 year time span we worked together and the many times enjoying your families celebrations and being there for the sad times. The songs and readings you chose for today’s celebration was very moving and so appropriate to describe Dave. It sounds as if he fought the battle, as would be just like him. My continued prayers for your family throughout the next days and months. We will all miss his bigger than life personality. If there is anything I can do, please feel free to contact me. Gods blessing to your entire family.

Condolences, Kathy, Emily, and Beth, and all your family during this time of grave sorrow. We are so saddened that David's life was cut short by such a devastating disease. The virtual funeral was very meaningful with loving remembrances by Emily as well as a wonderful message by the priest. We all have fond memories of our days on Iris Avenue and St. Jude Elementary School. Life has a way of swiftly moving forward with memories to sustain us as we age. The Erusha Legacy continues in your and David's beautiful daughters and grandchildren, Kathy. Our deepest sympathy to all.

All my sympathy to Kathy and family. Dave was one of the good guys. He always had a smile and kind word. Thank you for allowing this beautiful service to be shared.

Kathy, I can member David driving to UNI from Ames to see you and Jim and David's early years at Rockwell. David's name has always made me smile. Best to you and your family.

To the Erusha Family our sincere condolences and praying for your family. I worked with Dave during my years at Collins and so respected him and his effort at his job. Dave was a smart guy, friendly with a great sense of humor. I also played slow pitch softball and basketball with; he was a competitor for sure and pretty dang good ballplayer! The last time I saw Dave he was with his wife eating at Oscars in Hiawatha, stopped and said hello and visited probably 15 minutes. Dave will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Kathy, Beth, Emily & families, I wanted to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Dave. I was saddened to hear that he had passed. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I remember Dave well from our days working together at Collins. My sincere sympathy to his family. May he rest in peace!!

I played many baseball games against Dave in high school and college (I played for Washington HS and he played for Jefferson HS, I played at Iowa and he played at ISU). He was a terrific competitor and we had some real battles but he was always a gentleman and professional. My sincere condolences to his family. He will be missed.

We want to express our deepest sympathy to Kathy and the entire Erusha family. We have some great memories of fun times we shared with Dave in our “younger” days. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God give you strength, comfort and peace.

I am very sorry to hear that Dave passed away. Although I also worked at Collins for 38 years, I did not work with him there. However, years ago, I played on a softball team with him in the Collins leagues. I thought I would share 2 memories that stand out in my mind: 1) We were slaughtering an opposing team, and Dave suggested everyone switch hit thinking it would provide some relief to the opposing team. We were playing on diamond 7 at Noelridge Park where there were no outfield fences. When Dave got up to bat, he batted left-handed. He hit a ball toward left field. It landed on the infield on the next diamond over, bounced twice, and the catcher in that game caught the ball. 2) In another game, Dave got up to bat and momentarily stepped out of the batter’s box. He yelled at the outfielders of the opposing team that they better back up. They did back up a little bit. Then Dave proceeded to hit the ball over their heads anyway. That totally demoralized the opposing team. Dave was a friend to everyone who knew him and will be missed. Sending my sincere sympathy, Dan Davis

We are so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. We have fond memories of our years working together at Rockwell Collins. Sending our sincere sympathies. Liz & Jim Ferry

Very sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. We shared many years at Rockwell and his humor and positive attitude always made work more fun. Our deepest condolences.

The ‘why’s’ of our Everlasting Father have baffled mankind since the beginning of time. “Be still, and know that I am God” Psalms 46:10

I had the good fortune of being friends with Pam and Steve growing up. I remember their little brother David fondly. Such a vibrant family. My heart goes out to all of you at this difficult time. Wishing you peace and comfort.

My sincerest sympathies to the entire Erusha Family. I knew Dave from Rockwell where he was my boss at one time. Always a gentleman who treated everyone fairly and friendly. Good man all the way. Rest in Peace Dave.

Kathy and Family, we were shocked and so saddened to learn of Dave's passing. Dave was always so outgoing and positive in being a major leader for our Link-16 Team at Rockwell Collins and MIDSCO. He earned the tremendous respect of all his colleagues and customers and was a driving force in our business success in fully implementing our "game-changing" military communication system. Dave had my utmost admiration and respect. Our sincere condolences to his family.

Kathy, We are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing.... No words can mend your 'Heartache'.... Sending 'Strength, Peace, & Comfort', to you and your family, during this difficult time. I think of you often... Love, Patty

Those of us who grew up with Dave know what a talented, intelligent and great personality he had. Such an honor to have known him. He was loved by so many. Sympathy to the wonderful Erusha family and friends. I think of Dave often and always will. Tremendous guy.

We are saddened to hear of David’s passing. May all the Beautiful memories of your lives together help to heal your broken hearts. Terryl and Ron David

May the Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief. Dave was an inspiration to us all. His laugh, love and vigor for life will never be forgotten. Whether it was on the beaches in Mexico or at a booth at Papa Juan’s...everything was more fun with Dave! Please accept our sincere condolences.

Our most sincere sympathy and words of comfort as you send this endearing husband, father and grandfather on his final journey. He was a remarkable man who loved his family dearly. He will be missed beyond measure. Our words of comfort are small in comparison to how your family has touched our lives through your role, Kathy, as mother, educator and mentor. May you find peace in all the wonderful memories you made together as a family, and may God bless you and your family as Dave rest in His Eternal Peace. Ron and Millie Wendt
