Words cannot express the sadness that my heart feels from this sorrow news. Russ was such a kind hearted and funny guy, that even after I left from working with him years ago to serve in the US Armed Forces, to this day I continue to have recurring dreams of working along side him and there is always laughter. I guess that is because I always felt a sense of comfort and security, not to mention the fact that more than just being an employee or a subordinate, I felt like family with him and with Marilyn. My family and I loved going on parades with them and are fortunate to have tons of pictures to remember him by on those happy days. I guess what I am trying to say is, I am going to miss you my friend, though I missed you since the day I left the office, and I want your friends and family to know that you made such a huge impact in my life, and more than anything you will always be in my heart and we will continue to have many happy moments in my dreams. Til we meet again in the wonderful city of gold!!! From the bottom of my heart, Jeffrey Dumas

I am so sorry that I just now am learning of Russ's passing. He frequented the Cedar Grille at the Cedar Rapids Marriott for many years where I work. We would talk politics and have fun chatting about life. He will be greatly missed around the hotel by not only me but everyone he came in contact with. May Gods comfort be with your family.

Russ was a vibrant member of Christ Episcopal Church... interesting, encouraging and thoughtful. His participation with the Beloved Community - Dismantling Racism initiative in our congregation and at the diocesan level was inspiring. We miss him as we celebrate his life for the short time he was among us. Prayers of comfort and strength and joyful remembrance for all his family.

I knew Russ from Christ Episcopal outreach ministries - his work at the dishwasher at meal programs comes to mind! Much to celebrate, much to miss.

R.I.P. Russ until we meet again! The group of people from the Class of 1983 was simply The Best!!!

Russ was a member of my church, Christ Episcopal. He was always happy and glad to see everyone. He did whatever was asked of him. I was just getting to know him, and I will sorely miss him, as will many members of our congregation.

Russ made a difference in so many lives. I am thankful to have been a friend. Rest well.

My prayers and condolences to Marilyn and the entire family. Russ was my State Farm Agency Manager early in my career. I still utilize lessons that I learned from him in my State Farm Agency. Russ will be greatly missed. Nakamura Jenkins

Prayers coming from the Parkers in Marion Iowa. Was good to get to know him while he would visit in Arizona a few years back. Love, Bob and Shirley Parker
