My heartfelt sympathy to Bill's family. I didn't know of your loss until late today (Friday) when I read the Gazette and was shocked to see the obit.
Bill was a quiet man for sure. He'd always waved or chatted a bit when seeing him at HyVee or while doing yardwork/mowing his lawn. I saw him last in late summer or early fall and waved at him.

My Father and I knew Bill through delivering Meals on Wheels. He would always be sitting at his table in the kitchen working on his crossword when we arrived, greeting us with a smile. Time and time again we would ask how his day was going and he would always say, "Going great! How about yours?" He never failed to brighten our day and we will greatly miss him.

Sorry to see this as my children and I had the privilege of delivering meals to Mr. Kramer. We knew him to be at the table in the kitchen working on some type of written game. Indeed, quiet and kind. Here's to better days ahead.
