I met Phyllis and Charles when we moved in next door on Carroll Dr. They were wonderful neighbors. I send my sympathy to the family. Phyllis will be missed by all her friends. Jeanne Hepker

Chère Phyllis
Nous avons cherché à te joindre maintes fois ces derniers temps, sans succès. Nous aurions tant aimé, Aldo et moi, entendre ta voix, ton rire...Tu étais toujours si joyeuse et pleine d'humour.
Mon séjour à Cedar Rapids a été illuminé par ta présence et ta bienveillance. Tu as été mon professeur d'Anglais, mon amie, notre amie .
Nous avons partagé tant de bons moments à Coe Collège le jeudi Français, ou à jouer au squash. Tu avais tant d'énergie ! Nous aimions aussi passer du temps chez toi à admirer les merveilleux oiseaux de toutes les couleurs qui voletaient autour de ton feeder.
Dans mon bureau, j'appuie mon dos tous les jours sur le petit coussin que tu avais brodé pour moi, avec les 4 oiseaux plus plus célèbres de l'Iowa.
...Il y avait tant d'humanité dans ton coeur, tant d'ouverture au monde, de curiosité pour tout. Et cette touchante modestie.

Roger,Jane and the rest of the family--
I am sure that Phyllis is glad to be reunited with Charles after so many years apart but I will miss her so much during Sunday school. She hasn't been there very often in the last couple years but every visit was a treat for me. She was always wise with a slightly wicked streak of humor and a quick turn of words. Always a teacher she guided so many of us and served as a wonderful role model. I am so sorry for your loss and wish you all peace.
