Cynthia, Adam, Rachael, Emily and Laura, we have many hearfelt memories of Jon. He was a wonderful husband, great Dad and an unforgettable friend. If there were jokes to be told, it was his Job. If there were waves of laughter at a party, he was right in the middle of it. Jon also made the worst grilled chicken in Linn County but he didn't care and we ate it anyway. He will be missed deeply!

Became friends with Jon when he lived in Noehren Hall at UNI where I was Ass't Hall director. We had some good chats about dorm life, fraternity life, ( I was also an SAE as an undergrad) college expectations and problems and solutions. Sad to learn of his passing. He was a fine fellow. Dave DeWalle

My prayers and thoughts go out to the Burger Family. They were neighbors of my grandparents so we shared many talks and conversations across the fence. Loved growing up with their children and still get to share some laughs and stories together. Love you all. Always keep Dad's memories alive. He was a great guy!!!

I am saddened to hear of Jon’s death. My most fun memories of Jon are from summers - riding bikes in a herd through the streets of Jefferson when in Jr. High, summer neighborhood hijinks amidst the mosquitos and lightening bugs, scooping the loop, and especially life guarding with Jon at the swimming pool, then fraternity fun while at UNI. Jon was a really nice person— respectful and kind to people. Fun and funny. RIP Jon Burger.

Jon was my best friend growing up! We were in the same class, graduated in 1966! During that summer my family moved to Clear Lake and we both were life guarding at the Jefferson Pool! Jon and his mother invited me to live with them for the summer! I have great memories of that summer of 66 with them!
That fall we both went to UNI and both of us pledged SAE! We had a great friendship!
After college we lost contact and hadn’t connected for 50 years!
I am so sorry to hear of Jon’s passing! I’m praying for your family Cindy! Best Jack

Haven gained an awesome man on Good Friday. I was blessed to have spent many years hanging out at the Burger house and having many holiday and parties with the family, and I always will remember Jon making jokes and laughing. My fondest memories of Jon are the days my dad Dick and Jon would get their home perms. Those were the good old days. Having grown up with the Burgers at St. Paul’s Church, I know that Jon is now home with our lord and is enjoying everything he has loved. Burgers you are and have always been my second family and my heart hurts for all of you, but know he is still with you all in spirt. Love you all!

What pleasure to have Jon as my brother in law. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Life will be a lot less fun without him. I miss Jon dearly. May my many photos, memories of him and good times we made as a Family bring back smiles and chuckles in the years to come.

What a beautiful tribute to Jon. It captures his spirit so well. While our hearts are so sad, your words made us smile as we recall Jon’s outgoing personality, his stories and how he could make us laugh, his love of his family and of his pets. We are fortunate to have had him as a part of our lives and friendship group! Our hearts are with you all.

I have wonderful memories of spending time at the Burger home as a little girl. Jon tolerated a lot of practical jokes and girl craziness back then! I have nothing but fond memories of him! He was very kind to my mom when my dad passed and it meant a great deal to us both. Thinking of you all during this time and praying for healing for each of you in what is such a difficult time. Love, Naomi

Beautiful Memorial- Jon was everything you could ask for as an uncle and I’ll miss him immensely. He was a strong role model and would say the most meaningful things in a time of need.
know we love you all

You are all in my heart thoughts for this unspeakable loss Cynthia. As u know Jon and I had a soul connection since 1966 at UNI. I have no words to properly express my feelings. Its my faith belief that we will all see him again. Denny
