I am so happy to have seen your dad in Dubuque several years ago at Aunt Margaret's place. His face reminded me of Grandpa Miller, though your dad took offense at that! I'm so sorry for your loss and know that he'll be missed.

We lived at 3101 First St. for 28 yrs. and knew your folks & of course the neatly painted crafts that happened out for show !! Ann, if you remember, you babysat Ryan & Cody in early eighties. We kept tabs on Jack as always a friendly wave or hello at Church each Sunday. And a regular at each Fish Fry at K of C hall. How proud you each should be. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful & friendly man. Best to You. Howard & Sheri Schiffer

Living down the street from Jack for 41 years was never dull. He was always sharing his garden produce which lead me to make zucchini bread to share. I will miss "tea" time for the afternoon gossip sessions as Jack knew everything! My sympathy to Ann, Tammy and their families.

We loved Captain Jack. For years we stopped and visited with him when we were walking our wiener dogs. Always gave us a good laugh. He also built a potato/onion bin for me as a gift for my sister. She lives in Mitchell South Dakota and uses it daily. I also have several wiener dogs, an old goat and a "no Poo" sign made by Captain Jack. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

John, was my Supervisor for many years at Collins Rockwell CPC .Have many good memories of him and your mother. My sincere sympathy to you and your family. Martha Kolb.

Tammy. My heart goes out to you and your children. I know how much the loss of Dad and grandpa will mean to you all. Take care my friend.

I lived directly across from Jack and loved the sweet curmudgeon! He helped me out so many times without my asking and we sat many a day visiting in his handmade outdoor chairs. He loved most talking about his grandkids. He made the neighborhood. Prayers as you all grieve.

When John, Quincy, Justin and myself moved into the neighborhood. Jack greeted us with such grace. Definitely knows how to make people laugh! He will be missed. Prayers for your family!

Ann and Tammy - I am so sorry for your loss. I have many great memories of your dad. I always thought he was one of the sweetest!! My heart breaks for you and your family during this time. Sending Prayers! Brenda
