When my mother was in her mid-40's and newly widowed, Mr. Morris and John Vernon hired her as a teller at 1st National. With their encouragement she started as a teller, then retired as Controller. They helped develop her potential, for which I will always be grateful. Marion just lost another leader. My deepest sympathies to his family.

From all the Welton family---Odette, Linda, Suzanne & Michael. We are so sorry to hear about Phil's passing. We know how hard this is. We all have such fond memories of all the Morris family.

Phil Morris was a true leader in the progress and success of Marion. His contributions were both visionary and significant, be they in the arena of business, politics or community and his name has a permanent place in the history of our city.

Phil was a brother Mason and my friend. He focused on improving life in his business, his family and his life. His work in developing Cottage Grove Place exists as a testimonial to his vision for the future. Phil was always looking for ways to improve things. That was evident in his many years of service on the Cottage Grove Board. To his family, I join in celebrating his life. He made a positive difference while he was here. Use his example and live your lives as well. God Bless you all. William C. Jacobson Board Chr. Cottage Grove Place

Phil was always a joy to be around. His relationship with Camp Courageous goes back decades, from helping with projects, to donating household items as they downsized. It was always a treat to see him and Darlene at Cottage Grove. What a difference he made in so many lives... Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Darlene, along with family and friends.

Phil certainly was an intensive reader of anything political, and we had many memorable multi-hour phone calls from Arizona to Cedar Rapids. Having lived in Marion myself for 9 years, it was in Fountain Hills where I first meet Phil and Darlene. Not only did Phil read anything near him, he sent a lot of it and shared it by memorable mailings to many Fountain Hills Club members including myself. We will all miss Phil's communications. Rest in Peace, my Good Friend, Bill Powley, Fountain Hills, Arizona
