Roxanne – Clemons was a dedicated public servant. You could count on him to find justice whether his efforts were behind the scenes, on the city council or in a courtroom. I am sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Clemens was a warrior for justice. The passion was in his heart, eyes, and voice. His tenacity, energy, and compassion will be sorely missed. The minute you engaged with him, you knew he was the kind of fighter you would be honored to share a foxhole. Rest in Peace, Clemens!!

I first met Clemens in 1988 when I was a young prosecutor in Sioux City, Iowa and he represented John Orr on a Burglary. We tried the case and he won. We became good friends and when I served in the Federal Defender's Office in Sioux City, I called on Clemens to help me select a jury in the Cedar Rapids area and he always helped out when I asked. We spoke on the phone and he went to bat for me when I decided I wanted to be a District Court Judge. He also helped me out when I was attacked in my retention election in 2004 by working behind the scenes. I just learned today of his passing from a lawyer friend in CR. He will forever hold a special place in my heart and mind as good friend, a colleague, and a kindred spirit who also believed in due process, justice, and fairness. I will miss him but never forget him. My heart breaks for his family in this time of loss and may you find peace in keeping his memory close in your heart.

Clemons was a fairly quiet rationale radical. Bringing a calm, measured, and passionate approach to things--whether in the court room or in the halls of local goverment. Wanting systemic changes to make things better for us. Thanks, Clemons, for having been in our world. We are better all for it.

Roxanne and family, Mary and I are so sorry for the shocking loss of Clemens. We are traveling and just now learned of his passing. We sadly will miss the services. Clem was a good lawyer and friend. We chatted recently and were looking forward to coffee or lunch sometime soon. Our deepest sympathies. Tom and Mary McMurray

Roxanne, Bonnie and I are very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing Clemens with all of us. The corridor communities are indebted to him for his many contributions. Please know our thoughts are with you and your family.

Roxanne, When I saw the death notice in Today's Gazette, I thought it couldn't be Clemens--must be a relative. He was too young to leave us--and he had too much left to do. Always interesting, always dedicated to the law, always seeking justice for his client. He was an outstanding lawyer who contributed so much to our system. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you know that the criminal justice system has lost much as well. Pat
