Ivan, I was so sorry to hear about Dorothy. The two of you were always there when my folks, Mickey and Nora Mc Niel, ever needed assistance. Your friendship was truly appreciated. I'm not sure there were any projects that you and my dad encountered that the two of you didn't eventually figured out a solution. Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Bob Mc Niel

Debbie, I was at Cedar Memorial yesterday purchasing flowers for my wife’s grave when I noticed a visitation announcement of a person whom I imagined could be your mother. Checking this site sadly showed it to be. Sincerest condolences to you and your family from an old college friend.

Dorothy and I share the same birthday and many a birthday card. Dorothy and Ike helped me celebrate my 40th on a trip to Indiana. They were part of the surprise birthday party. Ginny

Today there is a sew-in in Heaven. Just an informal roll call of dear stitching friends. I was so lucky to join these ladies over 20 years ago, the baby of the morning group. Pat Scholl Bev Keim Charlotte Baker Gail Hronik Margaret Schulte Phyllis Olson Alberta Wagner Ruth Paulson And the newest member, Dorothy Hand The times spent at the lovely home on Raven Lane are some of my fondest memories. Coffee brewing, the voices chatting, Dorothy’s beloved Charlie, then Reo at her feet. She made the BEST macaroni salad and lovely desserts on her pretty dishes. Forgive me if I forgot someone. These wonderful women shared their homes, their lively personalities, and their talents. We miss them, but their spirits are alive and well whenever we gather. I’m assured that they’re together again! My unending gratitude to my dear former neighbor, Gail, for introducing me to them. I’ve grown so much as a stitcher, a friend, and human being because of their influence. I’m forever in their debt.

My Aunt Dorothy was simple a beautiful person. Her laugh, kindness and thoughtfulness are beyond description. When my Dad and her got together, laughter filled whatever area they were in. As I aged and traveled through CR, I always stopped and spent some time with Uncle Ike and her because I enjoyed them so much. She was one great lady and will be missed. Dick

I will miss this Sweet sweet Woman. I so enjoyed my time with her every Friday while doing her hair. Her Love of family and their love for her is something I will never forget !! My life is better for having known her ?? Rest In Peace my sweet friend Karen

I remember my Aunt Dorothy for her constant cheerfulness and kindness—and yes—her laugh. She was much loved by everyone who knew her. It was always fun to go to her house. I’m thankful for her long life and that she received constant, loving care by my cousins as she aged. Please know how much I admire your family. Becky

My condolences to your family on the passing of Dorothy. I remember many wonderful times with her at EGA meetings and times stitching.
