I knew Joan for many years through Fourscore. She was a lovely woman - kind and friendly. Everyone liked her. She was a good hostess and generous with her time for Fourscore. Everyone liked Burge, too. He came to the couples' things with her. I am sorry for your loss. Jean Deasy

Sue, Steve and families, I am so sad to hear of Mrs Petersen’s passing. We had soo much fun playing bball at Wash and your mom, and dad, were some of our biggest fans! Loved our bball dinners at your home and we always had fun times at the Kozy Inn! It was fun to reconnect with your mom at Keystone, she could talk talk talk- and I loved it! I am sure our loved Angels welcomed her to heaven, may you enjoy all the happy memories your mom made with you and your families! Love and hugs, Anne (Dale) Lala????????????

Joan (and Burge) were members of our church when we lived in Iowa. Joan was so kind and caring and her faith was a true blessing. Please accept our deepest sympathies. LaMar and Rita Grafft

Ann, I was sorry to see that your mother-in-law passed away. Joan was always so nice when I'd run into her at Keystone Cedars. Joan and my mom Stony, shared many soccer stories??. My mom enjoyed her very much. Thinking you. Nancy Vermie

Mrs. Petersen was my first grade teacher, and one of my favorite teachers of all, back in 1966-67. What a wonderful woman she will always be in my memory. I was fortunate enough to meet up with her again about four years ago and she still knew me and my entire family ... beating me in announcing my last name before I could (while re-intruducing myself), and then proceding to name off my parents and siblings as well as remembering where we lived and what my folks' respective employments were. She was a strong, inteligent, and highly respected lady. The world has lost a great asset. God has gained a true angel.

"Mrs. Petersen" was our son's teacher at Erskine, many years ago. We always admired her ability to inspire learning and channel energy in positive directions. Surely a loss for her family and friends but also a loss for the education community. Our deepest sympathy to you all.
