Jack Ilten, 84, of Cedar Rapids, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will take place Monday, January 21, 2019 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, sons John (Roni), Mike (Darlene), Tim (Brenda) and daughter Tina (Steve) Anstine. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother Lee.
Jack was born March 19, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to his parents Lee and Meta Ilten. Jack graduated from the University of Iowa School of Business in 1955. He married Ruth Brandenburg August 20, 1955. He served in the Army from 1956-1958 and was stationed in Colorado Springs and Germany. He worked at Ilten and Taege (now Ilten’s, Inc.) starting in 1959. Jack worked at Ilten’s up until his illness. He loved his church, family, community and was an avid traveler.
