Mike was a very sweet man. His support and kindness as a neighbor, and as Laura’s dad, meant so much to me and my family. We will miss him and we are so very grateful to have known him. We hope your good memories bring you peace.

I am so sorry for your lost. Your dad was a wonderful man, husband and parent. I have such fond memories of our families growing up in our old neighborhood. Mike was a loan officer at City National Bank. I was an Occupational Counselor at the Iowa State Employment Services. I testing and counseled individuals . Their career paths were determined . But, In order to be successful a college education was required. in many cases. But many times the road block was the money to go to college. I would call on Mike to help. He was the first loan office in Cedar Rapids who was willing to make student loans. I would send my people to Mike. He would take the risk and make the loans for the students to go to college. He changed many lives and made it possible for them to become successful. Besides being a loan officer, Mike was a wonderful human being with a big heart. I will forever be grateful to him for changing peoples lives. I also told him this many times. He always had a humble response. Of course, i will miss him, along with many other people who knew him.
