I can’t begin to tell you what fond memories I have of ‘Mr. Prediger’ when he was my Scoutmaster at Troop 766. However, the one that comes to mind, which I hope you will find solace in my sharing, was a particularly wet and cold canoe trip on the Upper Iowa River. This was the first time ‘The Predigers’ participated in a Troop event and Matt, Pat, and Jay ended up in the river so many times, they had to borrow dry clothes from just about every other person on the trip. Convinced we would never see any of them again, after such a challenging first time with the Troop, our fears were quenched by Jay’s constant enthusiasm, good nature, and sense of humor. “Of course we are going to keep coming on troop events,” I remember him saying at the end of the wet weekend, “we have to return all your clothes back to you!” I will carry this and many more memories with me, always, and so from the Mark Kerr family, I want to send our thoughts, prayers, and warm memories to you all during this difficult time. I will be sharing Jay Prediger stories around a campfire here in the Pacific Northwest in memory.

Brenda and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will remember Jay's friendly smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Best regards, Kellie Corrigan

Brenda and family. I am sorry to hear that Jay has passed. I enjoyed working, playing tennis and just talking with him over the years. His great smile was the first thing I always saw whenever I would run into him.

Dear Brenda & Family, I know it has been many years since we have connected, but I saw Jay's passing in the paper and wanted to extend my sympathy in your loss. Sending Prayers and Sympathy as you grieve the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. Jay was a great man!

It was with sadness I saw Jay's obit in the Gazette. I am so sorry for your loss. Miss you at St. Paul's. Hope spring comes soon and your gardening will give you comfort. Linda Lindsay

So sorry to hear of Jay's passing Brenda. It has been years, but I remember working with the two of you on 3rd floor of 124. You were both a pleasure to work with and I really enjoyed sports conversations with Jay. He loved playing softball. Reading about Jay's life was uplifting. It's pretty clear that you two created a warm and loving family together.

Dear Brenda, Jay was a pleasure to know and over the years, to know him was to know his wonderful family that he talked about so much. The very nice obituary was a good reminder of his wide interests beyond sports - Christy, Matthew and Patrick and hearing about them as they grew up, how much he enjoyed working in your beautiful yard, scouts, birds, and many things in addition that I didn't know about. His colorful family back in New York must have been one of a kind, but how fortunate he was to have your solid, very nice Hoosier family as well. I am sorry that he is gone now. But I have wonderful memories of him as a friend and of the lovely wife and family that surrounded him.

Brenda and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope fond memories of Jay will provide you comfort. We will remember Jay as a nice guy who had a great sense of humor.

We are so sorry to hear about Jay. Please accept our sympathies. Tim & Karen Ingwersen.
