Kimberly “Kimmy” Sue Day, 49, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at her home. Funeral Service: 10:30 Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Friday, January 19, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment at later date: Czech National Cemetery.
Kimberly was born January 18, 1968, the daughter of Roy and Clara (Sellers) Borseth, in Cedar Rapids. She was married to Kevin Day on April 7, 2006. Kimberly worked for Solon Elementary School for many years and for the last seven years, she worked at Nordstrom’s. She enjoyed many hobbies including coloring, painting, fishing, and four wheeling adventures with her son. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Day; son Sean Matheny; three sisters, Paula (Tim) Herold, Judy (Rick) Robertson, Julie (Carl) Sandal; two sisters-in-law, Teresa (Bob) Cummings, Kathy Fritz; several nieces and nephews; and two best friends, Carolyn Coleman and Jennifer Durian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Ralph and Esther Sellers, Mahlon and Lola Borseth, and Ruth (Fritz) Taylor; sister, Teresa Pickle; sister-in-law, Beverly Day; and brother-in-law, Russell Fritz.
Kimberly wanted to thank her Nordstrom family and the group of Team Kimmy for all their love and support.
