Gary and Carol ~ Just returned from vacation and saw that Derek had passed away. I always enjoyed Derek when Gary would bring him into bowl. Wishing you peace in the days ahead.

So sorry to hear of Derek’s passing. My uncle Jim and I had Roughrider season tickets a couple rows ahead of you for a few years. My heart goes out to you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve.

So sorry to hear of Derek's passing. He was a great kid. Very sorry we could not make it to funeral home. Please know that all of your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

For some moments in life there are no words. Our hearts ache for you. May you find comfort in the truth you have been the most loving and supportive parents to him. Your connection can never be broken. Cherish the memories you created with Derek. We will always remember Derek fondly as an avid lover of Cardinals, Packers, Rough Riders, Aggravation, Kernels, and, of course, all things purple! "When you speak of him speak not with tears, for thoughts of him should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared give you comfort for his life was rich because of you" - author unknown. We hope you find peace knowing the love of friends and family will bring you comfort and strength.

Sorry to hear about Derek's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Derek's Family - prayers to all of you during a sad time. Derek was a high school classmate and he was an amazingly kind soul that always had a smile - which will be missed by all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Just wanted you to know we are thinking of you and are deeply sorry to hear about Derek.

Derek has been a Blessing in our lives. Kathy, Jeff, Greg, Dan and Matt all have such warm memories and heartfelt feelings. As the boys were growing up Derek would stop by with smiles and excitement! In later years, Derek would come see our dogs, Lucy and Stella. Derek involved me in his activities, bowling, baseball, hockey and a trip or two out to dinner. We loved looking for something purple, or Cardinals, or Bdub or even Hooters for his birthday. Together we took in a lot of football games. And Derek was a welcome member of every community, so we were welcomed too! I can't fully describe Derek's winning ways in making friends with his smile, his ability to listen and his alignment with others. But he was very good at it and was teaching me (a work in progress!). A wonderful man takes on his next community, eternal Grace in Heaven. Abbey and Kate have "on-duty" angel in Uncle Derek...a continuation of this time with us. May God Bless the memory of Derek Jon VanMiddlesworth! He lives on in many, many hearts.

I remember the fun we had when Derek & I bowled on the same team together. He enjoyed bowling very much and I enjoyed bowling with him. May he rest in peace and find a bowling team in Heaven.

I remember growing up with Derek and how kind he was. Sorry to hear of his passing.
