Mrs. Adams was my 1st grade teacher, she was one of my favorites. That picture is exactly how I remember her, even that pink suit. Mr. Adams used to come help in the class. Even all these years later I have wonderful memories of my time in her class.

I lived across the street from Donna and Leroy for 13 years. One day Leroy brought over picture of the maple tree with beautiful fall colers They both were so kind and thoughtful. I framed it and to this day I get the picture out every fall and think of them. I will light a candle at church for both of them. R.I.P.

Saddened to read of your mom's passing. Donna was my 2nd grade teacher at Noelridge and frequently would tell me stories about that at church. I always remember that her classroom was where the chicks hatched! It is memories that will keep her alive in your hearts. Sympathy to all the family.

I only knew Donna for the last couple of years but always enjoyed my visits with her. I will always remember when she asked me to bring her apples. She was a lady who knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to let you know. I enjoyed her stories about teaching in Cedar Rapids and her family. She was a great lady and I'll truly miss her.

Donna was an inspiration as a Christian woman! The first time I visited Kenwood Park UMC, she introduced herself to me, showed me around the church, and invited me to Fellowship Hall afterward for coffee and cookies. Then, she introduced me to all of her church friends, and I came away from that experience knowing that her friendly, welcoming attitude had just endeared me to this church family! Maybe being born on the Fourth of July is what gave her the "spunk" and spirit to carry on her many endeavors throughout the years. Her children must be extremely proud of her and all of her accomplishments. RIP dear Donna! We will all miss you.
