Dear Family,
We are sincerely sad to hear of Jim's passing and know how deeply you feel this loss. Jim's enthusiasm and love of life is one other gifts I'll always remember. I worked at Peoples Bank 1985 into 1986. Jim was a supportive and encouraging presence and had a creative sense of humor. We kept in touch a short while after and i was sorry to have lost track but glad to read of his success. He was an American original. I'm not surprised to read of all the good works he was involved in. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Jim will be sorely missed. He, in his short time with us as a Ramblers member and NASCAR fan, became a close friend and compatriot. Our lives have been enriched with his presence and we are honored to have been called his friend. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Marj and the whole Family. God Bless you all.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Jim. We grew up together in Ottumwa, IA and Graduated together in 1964. At our last visit the time went to fast as we recorded the exceptional lives and experiences of our class. Hugs to all of the West family. Laris Roberts

I am sorry for your loss. Jim was a big part of our growing banking group at the time he retired here in Cedar Rapids. He was very kind and encouraging to me as a new banker promoted from a teller and installed in a former Peoples location from a Norwest location. I have thought of him often over the years. I enjoyed working for him. Jean

Our deepest sympathy to Marj and family members as we share their sorrow in the loss of Jim. Marj and Jim reached out to welcome us as neighbors and then became our friends. Jim was a kind and generous man who shared whatever he had to give whether it was his time, talents, tools, and so much more. We especially enjoyed the stories he shared. He will be missed.
