Joyce Darlene Middleton, 83 formally of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away on March 21st 2016 at Good Shepherd Villa, Mesa, AZ where she resided. She was with her children and some grandchildren at her side preceding her death.

Joyce was born in Iowa City, IA on November 5th 1932 to Virgil A Fuller and Opal Root.

She was survived by her children Steven Andrews (Wanda), Gloria Odekirk (Kent) of Mesa, AZ, Scott Middleton (Shannon)of St Louis, MO. Step-son Raymond Middleton (Ruth Ann) of Marietta, GA., Step daughter Kathy Rogers of Cedar Rapids, IA. many Grandchildren, Great and Great Great Grandchildren. Sister’s Norma Kenyon of St Lois Park, MN and Evelyn Colbert of Cedar Rapids, IA.

She and Cecil W Middleton were united in marriage on December 28th 1964 until his death. She was a member of the Eastern Star Organization for many years. She finished the 8th grade in Solon, IA and was extremely proud when she earned her GED at the age of 50. She was also proud that she was employed at the Masonic Library in Cedar Rapids, IA for over 3 years. She went to church services at the Chapel on the property at Good Shepherd Villa in Mesa, AZ.  She was passionate in working on Genealogy and had completed her family’s side clear back to the 1600’s. She loved piano music, crocheting, dancing, and learning about her computer. She must have went through 3 or 4 but she did so until she got it, played the piano, and of course many activities at the care center especially card games, musical shows, and BINGO B13, her favorite number. 

Preceded in death were her husband Cecil W Middleton, her son Gary Andrews, daughter Patricia(Trish) Kay Andrews, Grandson Ben Middleton, Great Grandson Zane William Craig. Step-daughter’s Marion, Striegel and Bernice Kohl. Her parents, Grandparents, sister’s Lyda Cornelius, Arlene Raker and Virginia Preuss, brother Donald Fuller, nephew Wayne Fuller and other siblings from MN.

Visitation will be April 1st from 5 to 8 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with Services on April 2nd at 1 pm at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
