My deepest sympathies McAvoy family. I had the privilege of working with Mac a short time but saw him often thereafter. We talked about Arizona where I came from often. Always a smile and a kind word. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My condolences ... I worked with Bob at SCI for a few years and remember him as being such a sweet gentleman. He was always with a smile and will be greatly missed....

Members of the Catholic Layman's Club would like to offer our condolences tothe family of Robert McAvoy. We much appreciate his effort with the Catholic Layman's Club in helping to support seminarians and future priests. God Bless

Bob was a kindhearted and generous man, always up and in good spirits. An excellent role model in so many ways, with an appreciative and lively sense of humor. We were lucky to know him and to have him in our lives. Sympathies to Millie and to the others of his family.

McAvoy Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Barrie and I worked at SCI for many years with Bob. I personally got to know him well when I worked as his assistant. He was a wonderful boss and such a kind man that loved the community of Cedar Rapids. We are in California vacationing right now and feel so bad that we are unable to attend his services. Our thought and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Barrie and Jane Ernst
