To my friend, mentor and fellow Waukon grad. Not knowing Gerry while in Waukon, we met in the late 80's as neighbors. We discovered we both worked for the same clothing store in Waukon, but being several years apart we never met. An amazing thing I learned about Gerry that most people don't know, is that he could read a 200 page book in an hour and remember most of it. Gerry was one of the sharpest business minds I have ever met and on a number of ocassions has helped guide me through some difficult business decisions. Gerry had a great sense of humor and could talk with anyone. We will miss his smile, sense of humor, and friendship. Thank you Gerry.

Over forty years ago, Jerry told me that it took 80 hours per week to become successful and 70 to stay there. I have never forgotten that...or him. He will be missed.

So many memories have been running through my head since I first heard of Uncle Jerry's passing on Tue morning. His personality and smile brightend up the room. As a child, I remember Christmas Eve at his house as it was always an exciting time with the house full of laughter, Jerry telling jokes and getting the children hyped up to open presents! I think he enjoyed it more than all the kids. I also have so many fond memories of time spent at their house in the swimming pool. When I think of my Dad's side of the family Uncle Jerry was part of the foundation. My heart is saddened by his death but know that part of him is still alive in Laura, Jeff and Brian.

My memories of Jerry were from when I was as a child. I remember Jerry always had a joke at the ready. One Christmas, he had gotten a pool table for the family and stored it in a room in the basement as it was too big to wrap. To keep the kids out, he "wired" the door and put a sign saying " Warning 10,000 Volts!! Keep Out!" At the time, there was no way I was going to touch that door. Looking back as an adult, I can laugh now and reflect Jerry's good sense of humor.
I can see how his life has positivity impacted so many lives and that he will be missed. My most sincere condolences to Karen, Jeff, Laura, Brian as well as the extended Knox family. Rest in peace Uncle Jerry.

My Condolences to the Knox family. I met Jerry through Business in 1970. I always liked Jerry over the years. I don't know if He ever had a "bad hair day", and I'm sure He did; but if He did I never saw it. Jerry always had a smile and always time to talk with You...even when He was busy. He had a goodness about him I admired. You will miss him as all of us will. Jack Lindstrom

My first memories of Jerry are of Jim & Jerry coming to live with me and my parents. It was during the 2nd World War and Jerry's father Tom was in the army and my Mother and Father took Jim and Jerry while my Aunt Edna and her husband Ted took Gene to be with them. My sister Frances could then be with Tom while he took his military training.
I remember us playing in cardboard boxes and pretending that they were airplanes, also after the war was over my Father died and then I went to live with Tom and Frances and Jim & Jerry. Even then Jerry loved a joke! I remember one wintertime day as we walked home from school, I slid down a creek bank and got caught in the snow. I couldn't get out although Jerry tried to pull me out, I was still stuck, so Jerry walked home & got his Dad to come and pull me out. There are too many other memories to mention. Those 3 boys always seemed more like brothers then nephews.
I'll certainly miss Jerry.

Jerry and Karen raised three wonderful children who in turn blessed them with terrific grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry was the perpetual optimist always claiming the "Irish Luck" for his accomplishments. They broke the mold when they made Jerry Knox. No one can hold a candle to Jerry. He was my friend for more than 40 years. Yes, we lost a good one in his passing but he lives in our memories for ever. My condolences to his family.

Jerry was one of a kind. I really enjoyed our years of friendship, playing cards, having lunch, talking over old times. He was a great businessman, and will be missed by all. We lost a special person.
