Dorothy J. Chase, 83, of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday January 6, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. Memorial services at 3:00 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Bruce, and a daughter Caroline (Gary) Wendel of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son David and a daughter Sally Webber.
Dorothy was born on October 11, 1931 in Reinbeck the daughter of Forrest and Sara Link Millikin. She married Bruce A, Chase on June 6, 1949. Dorothy was co-owner of Sunline Inc. with her husband and retired in 1999 after many years of service.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, fishing, flying and piloting her own plane. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends at their home in Montrose overlooking the Mississippi River. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Luke’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
