Nyle, it has been many years but I was saddened to learn that you lost your life partner. May God bless you and your family. Your old Amana friend.

Nyle and family, We are saddened to see that Barb passed away. Many years have passed since the good old South 11th Street neighborhood, but we still have many wonderful memories of your parents and you and your family visits to Clear Lake. We remember Barb as a very special, kind woman and our sympathy goes out to you and yours.

Barb was not only my sister-in-law, she was my friend. I will miss our long conversations in the kitchen while cooking and sitting in the sunroom looking out at their wonderful yard. Both places were so loved by Barb. She will be so missed.

Nyle, I am so sorry to hear of Barbs passing. She was a very sweet and kind lady.I remember the numerous times you came through the drive thru at Samples Pharmacy and would have a big beautiful bouquet of flowers for her. I was the lucky one to work side by side with Barb at Truman for many years. She was put on this earth to teach first grade with her compassion, sense of humor, patience, and love for every child in her classroom. Barb took her responsibilities very seriously and put in endless hours to do her very best for her students.
Her love for her family was apparent every day. She was so proud of "her girls" and she and Nyle were lifelong partners. Barb was a role model for all and a terrific friend, she will be missed but she has left her mark for all of us to treasure.

Nyles, Amy and Sara: Barb and I were classmates at Lansing Public School and shared so many fun, memorable times. Her sense of humor was unlike anyone I've ever known. She was kind, spontaneous and always, always fun to be with. When the Class of '58 had reunions, I knew Barb would be there and it was just like we had never been apart. She knew and was friends with Brent before I ever knew him. They, too, shared some great times. We were both shocked and saddened by her passing. Heaven is a better place for having Barb as a member. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

My sympathies in the loss of Barbara, your loving wife and mom. She was an amazing teacher and I have nice recollections of visiting her with my mom, Maureen Tipping, when I was a child.
Nyle, Amy, Sara and families, my heart goes out to you. I pray that, in time, your deep sadness with be replaced by joyous memories of the wonderful times.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Spalding for many years. She was my first grade teacher at Truman Elementary. I also was a member of Gloria Dei from childhood through high school and when I would see her we would catch up on what I was doing in life. She was a very kind lady and great teacher. My thoughts are with her and your family during this time.
