John Lynn Sullivan, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday January 19, 2014. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery in Walker. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, rosary at 4:00pm and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
 
Survivors include his wife Josephine Anne Sullivan, his children; Linda  (Gary) Bell of Eldridge, Gail Sullivan of Cedar Rapids, John (Maria) Sullivan of San Diego, California, Sharron (Randy) Dvorak, Gary Sullivan, Margaret Hardiman and David (Barbara) Sullivan all of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Katherine Craig of Hiawatha, his grandchildren; Melissa, Emily, Ricky, Brandon, Andrew, Miles, Esmeralda, Kyle, Brett, Brandon, Damon, Ramius, Demetrius and Genevieve, his great grandchildren; Kailynn, Liam, Jase, Bryson, Embralynn and Ariana. 

John was born July 6, 1928 in Walker, Iowa, the son of John and Mary (Matejka) Sullivan. He married Darlene Marie Dvorak on May 29, 1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker. April 26, 1958 he married Josephine Anne O’Connell at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fairfax. John worked for Guaranty Bank. He was a charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church, American Legion Hanford Post #5, V.F.W. and Knights of Columbus. John served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and Xavier football. He could repair almost anything. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene Sullivan, 5 sisters and a brother.
