Memorial
Richard L. Orend, 67, a resident of Willow Gardens died there on Monday April 14, 2014 after a short illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday.
Survivors include, a brother Robert of Marion and two sisters, Frances (Bill) Bergum of Billings, Montana and Barbara (John Papp) Orend of Clive. He is also survived by four nieces, Cassandra, Cecelia, Candida and Cornelia and three nephews, Bobby, Derek and Trevor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard was born on May 6, 1946 in Cedar Rapids the son of Lester and Libby Syrovy Orend. He worked at Options of Iowa for over 15 years and was a former Boy Scout. Richard enjoyed camping, fishing, playing the guitar and drums and time spent with his friends and family.
A memorial fund has been established in Richard’s name.
