Anna M. Hasek, 86 of Hiawatha died Wednesday May 15, 2013 at her home after a long illness. Private graveside service on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Per Anna’s request there will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Survivors include a son Charles (Connie); four daughters Kathy (Mike) Couser, Nancy Burch and Peggy Hartman all of Cedar Rapids and Linda (Roger) Wyatt of Hiawatha, a brother John (Mary Ann) Earsa of Fairfax and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, a brother Bill Earsa, a sister Helen Carlson and daughter-in-law Susan Hasek.Anna was born on August 5, 1926 in Fairfax the daughter of Charles and Francis Shotola Earsa. She married Jerry A. Hasek on September 24, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. Jerry passed away in 1993.Anna worked as a cashier at HyVee and retired from there after more than 30 years of service. She did volunteer work at the Hiawatha Care Center, enjoyed going to the casino with family and friends and had traveled all over the world. Anna was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
