What a beautiful video tribute, she would love it. Loss of a loved one is painful and never goes away completely. Try to remember Barb for the life she LIVED rather than how she died and to continue on...this is the best way to honor their memory. God bless!

My deepest sympathy to Barb's children, Gordy, and to the Meeks family. I went to school with Barb from Truman Elementary to Taft and then to Jefferson. My first memory of her was I believe in the second or third grade, we did a skit together about George Washington and his father, the cherry tree incident. I remember the first time I was at her home and I saw the pictures on the wall of her older brothers and sisters and asked who they were?, she was SO proud of them, it made me envious that she had so many older siblings to look out for her. She was so much fun and so creative, she truly seemed to be glowing all the time, and I regret so much that over the school years we grew apart. Share your memories and stories often whether they bring tears or smiles. I'm praying for you all and your broken hearts.

Just opened the Gazette and I'm stunned. My thoughts immediately go to Theresa, my high school best friend. I am so sorry, honey. My memories of Barb go back to Jefferson High School, watching her dance in "Oklahoma!" And then the privilege of teaching Alex, September and Theresa at Grant Wood. I thought of Barb when I saw Theresa do such a good job on stage at TCR in Camp Rock. What a beautiful girl, she reminded me of Barb. Barb always had a smile on her face and was quick to laugh and share her great sense of humor. She helped me with background scenery for one of Alex's plays and I was so impressed with her art work. Barb's children brought her great joy and I know she was a great Mom. Gordon, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to the entire family. You'll be in my prayers. Love, Amy Hanisch

I will always remember Barb as joyful, creative, passionate, faith-filled, and one of two people who helped me create a new kind of worship experience at Cedar Christian Church--a model for worship that I have now used at two other congregations. Whenever I lead contemporary worship, I know that Barb's spirit is with me and continues to bless my life.

Adequate words escape me at times like these... If I may quote another to say

Have peace family of Barb, knowing her during her altogether too short of time with us. Her bright spark of life is out now, but yet not in our minds eye.
