Dear Nancy and family, I was deeply sorrowful when I heard of the lose of your son Chase. I did not know Chase but remember your children when we played cards at your home at Belvidere some years ago. I so enjoyed getting to know you and remembered you moved to Cedar Rapids..
I just pray you can find some comfort in the many thoughts and prayers for you at this time. Lottie Hvezda

Al and the Meyer family.
My deepest sympathy to you for your loss of Chase. I only knew Chase by Al's rant after the fender benders or the not checking in episodes but I knew that AL loved him but wanted to kick him in the backside. AS much as we try we can only lead them down the path of life. We cannot carry them because as parents we are always ahead of them on our journey. They can only see where we have been and guess where we are going. But the important thing is you give tools to know the way of the path and to know all the important and right things in life as we go down life's path. Al and his family gave Chase all the right tools and showed him the way. It is all we can do is to show our loved ones the way we know is right and honorable. My condolences to you and my admiration for being the good people you are.

Nancy, Holly and Richard,
Words will only fail when it comes to the loss of a loved one. Time will only ease the pain, but never heal the loss of Chase. You will always find healing in the memories of the joy you shared with Chase. In your memories are the keys to healing and the easing of the pain of his passing. Every day you have a joyful memory of Chase, of his smile, his laughter, his expressions when he told a joke. In all of these he continues to live through your memories
You all have our deepest sympathy and empathy of this challenging time.

Nancy, Dick and Dixie and the family of Chase: Perry and I send our very sincere condolences to each of you. Life does not seem fair when its order is reversed, when the child dies before the parent. My own son died more than 15 years ago and it is still an emptiness that never leaves. Our prayers for your inner peace go out to you, and the knowledge that God is always with you, allows you the knowledge that only time will heal the emptiness of this tragedy. All of the emotions you will experience will eventually lead to acceptance that this young man's memory will always be with you in spirit. We wish you prayers of serenity and sincere sympathy at this tragic time. Love always, Joyce & Perry

My heartfelt sympathy to all of Chase's loved ones.
I was roommates with Chase for a short while a couple years ago. I can honestly say I never met a more genuine and caring young man in my life. He was so thoughtful - his wisdom stretched far beyond his years. We only spent a few weeks together but it always felt like we had been lifelong friends. It still feels that way, which makes this all the more heartbreaking.
Rest in Peace, Brother. You are sorely missed.
