Frances M. Vancura, 92, a resident of the Meth-Wick community died July 18, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Paul Wilcox of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the Chapel of Memories. Private burial will be held at Bohemian Cemetery, Omaha, NE.Surviving are her children, Robert Vancura and wife Sara and Jim Vancura and wife Barbara all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Tim Vancura and wife Lesley and their children, Kennedy and Delaney all of Marion, Heidi Vancura of Cedar Rapids and Cory Vancura of Des Moines.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert O. Vancura.Frances Mary Vancura was born October 5, 1919 in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of Frank and Mary (Mirasky) Shramek. She was united in marriage to Robert O. Vancura on August 25, 1942 in Omaha. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1962. She worked in her home but also assisted her sons in their businesses. She enjoyed sports, and especially watching basketball and tennis meets of her grandchildren. She was a tremendous cook and baker and will be remembered for her volume cooking for small groups.
