Marilyn im so sorry Denny and him were buddies they both are at peace now god bless them both RIP God Bless You

Mark was a great person, boss, and friend. We are saddened by his passing. We still remember you opening your home for Pam to do the commercial for national TV. Mark helped me in my career at Ia & Ill Gas & Elect Co when he was the manager. He was always fair and treated people with respect and helped them when he could. Our best to you and your family.

Marilyn,
Keeping you in my thoughts. I truly enjoyed Mark. His humor and kindness shined through even during some of his difficult days. I could tell by the way he responded to you that he loved you very much. What a blessing. To you, make sure you take care of yourself as you have been very dedicated to helping care for Mark for so many years. Here is a *Hug* to help you through this difficult time. Sincerely, Jodi Finzel, Therapy dept. WRCC.

Marilyn, we were sorry to hear about Mark. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Aunt Marilyn,
I'm so sorry to hear about uncle Mark. He was a joy to be around and always seemed to make those around him smile.
I really enjoyed the slide show. Uncle Mark was an inspiration to anyone who knew him. He was a great man and will be sadly missed.
We are praying for you, Mark,
and Michelle.
Love,
Greg

Marilyn & family:

I only knew Mark a short time, but I will greatly miss the intelligence, zest for life and wry humor that came through loud and clear despite his illnesses.

During one of our first afternoons together, Mark took me on a kind of tour of the memorabilia in his room: He told me about the Haynes automobile that was produced in his hometown of Kokomo, Ind., and talked about how this kindled a love for fixing up old cars that he filled up the garage with and drove around town. He remembered who years earlier had drawn the portrait of a younger Mark that hung above his bed, and regaled me with stories about a few of the severe-looking characters in other old pictures in his room.

One day, Mark asked me to get out his West Point ring. He put it on -- it still fit -- and told me all about how hard it was to get through West Point and what tough taskmasters the teachers were.
There was one in particular, Don Rumsfeld, who turned out to be a mainstay of Mark's career.

I, of course, knew of Rumsfeld from his time as defense secretary and had read about how he could strike terror into the hearts of underachieving underlings. So I asked Mark if he were a perfectionist who was hard to please. Mark just rolled his eyes and said, "Ooohboy." I laughed out loud.

All around Mark's room and throughout Mark and Marilyn's lovely home are objects that testify to Mark's incredible creativity -- a lamp made from an old electric meter! -- and what I came to believe was a kind of restless mind, always searching for more to learn and more to accomplish. I miss my visits a great deal.

While I wish I had known Mark in his prime, I have a pretty good idea what kind of man he was. And I feel very privileged to have been allowed into that first-class mind and generous spirit for the short time that was granted me.
