Please accept our deepest sympathy with the loss of Jerry. He made us all better people and Cedar Rapids a better place to live. His work at Jefferson filming, processing and delivering athletic films will always be appreciated and never forgotten. As always, thanks for your hard work!

Our deepest sympathy to Jeanne and her family. We have such fond memories of good times together. We enjoyed eating homemade pizza, going to the boat house, scuba diving, sharing photography skills, Florida visits and more. Jerry is remembered as a fine person and a wonderful friend.

I want to join in the celebration of Jerry's life. He did so much for Jefferson in so many ways. As a brother Mason I also revere his memory. He lived his life following Masonic principles. We are all blessed because he was here.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have many fond memories of spending time with all the Newports.

Our deepest sympathies to our friends. Not everyone is blessed with a father who could walk into his shop and retrieve a radiator cap for a '58 Chevy - no matter how many layers deep it was buried. We're thinking you all.

Our thoughts and Prayers go out to each of you. We had known Jerry had not been well for a long time but thought he was doing better.
Again know our prayers and thoughts of love and concern are with each of you espically to our children Jade and Allison and our friend Diane. Special thoughts of love Bob and Joy.

I am sure that I speak for many members of the Cedar Boat Club when I extend our prayers thoughts to the family. Expecially to Jade & Allison, please know that is there is anything that you need to help you through this difficult time do not hesitate to call. Jerry was a very loved member of our city and the Cedar Boat Club. He will be greatly missed by many.

Our thoughts and prayers and with the Jade and Mindy and the rest of the family during this difficult time. Jerry was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by everybody.

We would like to be with the family at this time, but Sharon and I are out of town. We enjoyed calling on the family on a regular basis and will continue to call on Jeanie. Our prayers and love are with you. Our memories go way way back with the Newport's, we will cherish those memories forever.

Prayers are with the entire family during this time.

Uncle Jerry will be missed. We remember his full and hearty laugh and big smile. He is now with Gradma, Gradpa, the Aunts and Dad. God's Comfort and Blessings be with all of you.

Tom, Steph, Shelby and Grant,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We hope you're comforted by God's love, all the friends who care about you, and in all the wonderful memories.

Diane, Was on Cedar Memorial website re: another person I know and saw that your Dad had just passed away. Lost my Dad last year. My sympathy to you and your family.

The Saturday night "family" at Hope Lutheran misses Jerry's quick smile. We all appreciate the hard work, dedication and love that he and Jeanne and others put in for so many years to make Hope the warm, welcoming church home that it is.

Keeping you in my prayers,

My sympathy to all of you. I have missed Jerry's presence and pleasant demeanor at church. He always had a smile for everyone. My thoughts are with you.
