Josh and Ben,
It was with great sadness that I heard of the untimely passing of your Dad. I was a friend of his at the Loyola Rome Center back in 1969 where we spent much time together doing all the things that college kids do. Your dad, Bearcat, as we called him was truly one of those special people that you only get a few chances to meet in life. Although I haven't spoken with him in many years, he was always fresh in my mind and memories. I, as well as the rest of our class and friends from Rome will truly miss your Dad. A kinder and gentler man would be hard to find. There has been a flurry of emails amongst us this morning and afternoon and I wish I could share all the great stories and heartwarming rememberances we all have shared today. Our prayers and thoughts go out to both of you and your Grandparents. I would loved to have made the trip to Cedar Rapids to share this time with you and say goodby to a great friend but due to timing I will be unable to do so. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Josh, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My families prayers and thoughts are with you and Ben.

Josh, you are in my thoughts at this difficult time. I'm very sorry about the loss of your father. Please let us know if there is anything we can do on this end to help you and your brother.

Josh and Ben-- Janet Smith Wright here. I went to Saint Rose with your dear mother, Donna, and I was a very good friend of your Dad, Bearcat, at SCU. I had many wonderful times with both your mother and dad. Bearcat made Anne Middleton and I a legend at SCU with our nicknames. He was so special to so many of us. I have two sons myself and I know how much you must be suffering. I will keep you in my prayers and I know Bearcat and Donna will take care of you in their new home. Josh--I met you last yr. at the Golden Circle and told you how much I loved your Dad. God bless. Janet Smith Wright

Josh and Ben~
We are very sorry to learn of this loss. We hope that you will find comfort in knowing that your Dad is in a better home now. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Josh, I was very sorry to learn of the passing of your father. Melanies and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I first met Bear Cat at Santa Clara in the late 60's. I believe he was from Los Gatos at that time. We had some great times and then drifted apart. We moved to Iowa in 1983. In the later part of that decade we renewed our relationship as the Bronco's were playing the Hawks in the 1st round of the NCAA. He showed up at our Round Table Pizza store with 1/2 Iowa and the other SCU. I remember seeing him again at his wife's wake service and meeting both of his Sons. His wife's death indeed was a tragedy. I will miss his cheery disposition and his quick wit. Both Carlotta and I will pray for Dick and his family.

Josh and Ben, we have known each other for years, thanks to your presence in my life via my brother, Charlie. I love you both and I am here for you in any capacity. You are both in my prayers.
