Memorial Day Weekend 2022

Avenue of Flags at Cedar Memorial

Memorial Day_Avenue-of-Flags

We are proud to invite you to our Memorial Day Avenue of Flags. More than 1,500 American flags—each donated by veterans' families —line the avenues from Saturday morning through Monday evening to honor our veterans and all those who serve in the military. This year the flags will be displayed from Saturday morning, May 28 through Monday evening, May 30.

Be sure to complete the card provided to you upon entry. Five cards will be selected to receive a FREE oak tree that will be delivered and planted (within the greater Cedar Rapids metro area).

Memorial Day Tribute Ceremony

Please join us Monday, May 30 at 11:00 AM for our Memorial Day Tribute. Bring family, friends and neighbors…lawn chairs and blankets…and enjoy patriotic music, rifle volley, and taps.

We are honored to have Gene Peterson as our featured speaker.

Gene Peterson is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. In recent years, Gene and his wife, Sherry, have become leaders in the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

In the event of rain, the program will be held in the Chapel of Memories.
