Our Commitment to Your Health and Safety
A proclamation was issued by the Iowa Governor that implements limitations on gatherings. In accordance with these mandates, Cedar Memorial is required to implement the following changes to our services:
- All visitations will be private and are limited in number of attendees, clergy, and our associates.
- Spiritual and religious gatherings (both indoor and outdoor) are not prohibited.
- Funerals and graveside services are considered to be a spiritual or religious gatherings and are allowed with reasonable measures to ensure physical distancing and promote ongoing mitigation efforts.
- Within the reasonable measures there are limitations on the numbers of people that can be in attendance at a service based on the location.
With our many unique facilities, we welcome you to contact us about how each location may serve your family best and what occupancy considerations are necessary to abide with the requirements of the new proclamation.
Please reach out to us at any time at 319-393-8000 or at email@example.com.
Cedar Memorial is committed to the ongoing safety of our community, and we understand that we are facing an unprecedented situation due to the COVID-19 virus. As we find ourselves in this challenging time for our society and recognize that we are an integral part of the community, we also must do our part to protect the community. Our Associates have been continually following the recommendations and guidelines that have been provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Cedar Memorial fully recognizes how important participation in a funeral or visitation is as one begins a grief journey. Several proclamations have been issued by Iowa's Governor that impact gatherings and services to celebrate a life lived.
With our many unique facilities, we welcome you to contact us how each location may serve your family best and what occupancy considerations are necessary to abide by the requirements of the Health Disaster Proclamation.
In addition to the above, Cedar Memorial is adhering to the “Public Health COVID-19 Reopening Guidance” and the “Guidance for Spiritual and Religious Gatherings During COVID-19” that were issued on April 27, 2020. We care deeply about the safety of our Associates and visitors. If you are feeling ill, have had signs of a respiratory infection, have recently been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have recently traveled to a high-risk area, please do not enter our facilities.
We will continue to have Associates at most facilities that can assist as needed. Signs will be posted at all facilities listing our contact information so you can immediately reach us. We recommend calling us at 319-393-800 before your arrival or setting an appointment. Cedar Memorial will always have Licensed Funeral Directors available 24/7 for any needs and can also be reached at 319-393-8000.
We have implemented a private and personalized remote attendance system. At the request of families that are having private services at the Chapel of Memories, we can provide the ability for family, loved ones, and friends to privately attend a service or celebration of life remotely in real-time or view after the service has been completed. If you are considering an event at your church, our experienced Funeral Directors can assist with contacting them to find out what their considerations will be during this time.
We have for several years offered the ability for the completion of arrangement conferences through the use of virtual meetings and documents that can be signed electronically.
At all Cedar Memorial facilities, we have invested in hand sanitizing stations and sanitizing wipes. We also have implemented additional cleaning measures for those places or items that receive more frequent contact.
As this health situation changes, we will continue to send out communications through Facebook and our website at www.CedarMemorial.com.
The Associates of Cedar Memorial will continue to serve our community just as we have for the last 90 years- with genuine care for our entire community.
