I know she was one of nicest moms of Buchanan. At McKinley, I think that I spent more time in her office than I actually spent in class. I'll miss her.

It was only last month that I had lunch with Jean and several other McKinley alumni. We spoke of McKinley experiences and laughed over glasses of wine and warm bread. Jean spoke of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. How proud she was of all of you. I'll always remember her as the ultimate "mom-" as she told kids to get to class or they would be in trouble. She will always be apart of the McKinley family!

As another member of the McDonald Clan and former Bever Avenue resident, I too, would like express my sadness when I learned of Jean's passing. Both Jean and Jack were very dear friends of my parents and they were an important part of our childhood. I like to think of them all up in Heaven raising their glasses to each other. Peace and restful sleep to them all.

Jean was a wonderful woman and a true friend to my grandma. So full of life and laughter. I remember her coming over for pool parties, outings to the Dog Track, bingo and many card games. May your entire family remember great memories for years. My sincere condolences.

To the entire Ogden family, what a sweetheart Jean was. I taught at McK for 11 yrs while she was the attendance secretary. She was so chipper and positive every morning as I’d walk past her office to go up to Rooom 304. She cared about every single person in the building. What an inspiration. She will be missed.

To the entire Ogden family, As a member of the McDonald clan, previous resident of Cedar Rapids and next door neighbor to the Ogdens, I can say with absolute certainty what a warm, wonderful and caring person Jean was. Although it's been over 50 years since I've seen her, the memory of Jean and Jack's kindness to me and my entire family is stil a great and vivid memory. God Speed, Jean and God bless all of you.

J.R., Lisa, and Ogden Family, So sorry for the loss of your mother. Sounds like she was an amazing woman. God will embrace her and make her another special angel.

Thoughts and prayers to Jean's family from her former neighbors at "The Greens".

I'm so sorry for your loss, J.R. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family.

I worked with Jean when she was the attendance secretary at Franklin and McKinley. She was a great lady. She was kind, smart and funny. I was the truant officer for the school system and so we spoke almost daily about the children who were truant from school. She had a great heart and she will be missed I am sure.

Lisa, John & Family, So Sorry for your loss. Sounds like she was loved by many. Keep her in your heart and you will have her always.

We have fond memories of Jean from the church and we're sending our sympathy to all of the Ogden family. May you find strength in the memories you cherish. Sincerely, Wally and Beth Sheets

To Jean's entire family, she will be deeply missed by many people. I am Pat's daughter and my mother couldn't have had a better best friend. We all went out for breakfast after church about three weeks ago. Jean was so generous and giving and loved by all. To all of the family our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

So very sad to hear of Jean’s passing. For many years when she made trips to Florida, she always took time out of her busy activity schedule to spend a day with us. Those memories will be cherished. For her family and friends, you’ve lost a truly loving person, who has now left you all with so many wonderful memories.

Dear Candy, Cathy, JR and Family: We have all lost a wonderful and delightful lady. Linda and I send our most sincere sympathy and condolences, Jean was a friend to all she came in contact with. So personable so pleasant and so happy. All the years I knew her and worked with her at McKinley JHS as she worked as the attendance secretary, she was very much liked by staff and students alike. As an instructor at McKinley I always appreciated the work she did checking on kids, caring about them, and being certain the attendance reports were accurate. Of course they were. Jean leaves very fond memories with us all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and all those who loved her. God bless her. Sincerely, Wayne and Linda Martin

How sad I was to learn of the passing of Jean Ogden. Jean was a good reliable friend to my mother, Jean Heitzman and our family. Both Jean’s did many social functions, cards and loved Iowa Football. The Ogden family and my family grew up together. It was Jean Ogden that found my mother in her condo after a stroke. You could see that these women were very close friends. It may be of interest that Jean Ogden’s passing on March 20 was Jean Heitzman’s birthday. It was an honor to be part of your family and wish everyone the best.

To know Jean, one only has to look to her children. Jean was a lady full of life, laughter, and love. I personally had the opportunity to know her better through my work. An occasional golf ball would sail thru one of her windows and she would have to call Daryl. I found myself spending more of my time visiting with Jean than repairing her window. I don't know if Jean wrote with verve, but she certainly spoke with it. What a wonderful life to celebrate!!!!!! .

JR and family: Please accept our condolences on your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most difficult time. We hope that comfort and peace come to you. We know she will truly be missed. May God bless all of you. Jim and Carol Voss

Another one of those wonderful church ladies who were like family to me. You will be missed Jean.

Jean was a delight to know in the Alpha Chi Omega sisterhood . She welcomed me to my first alum meeting over 40 years ago and her smile never quit. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Sending our condolences to the entire Ogden family. She was a great lady and passed way too young. Jeff and Kristen
