We were so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She and Russ were both so special to us at church. We all enjoyed our coffee session every Sunday where we talked about Iowa and Iowa State football and basketball. They were both such loving people and will be missed so much. We will celebrate her life on Tuesday.

It has been my privilege to know Shirley and Russ for many years. She was always pleasant and showed concern for me and my family. I celebrate her life and the legacy she leaves. She was an outstanding woman whose life covered major changes in the role of women in society. She handed this well in all her interactions. I celebrate her life. She made a difference in so many ways. Her children and grandchildren benefited from her guidance. A life well lived.

My sincere sympathy on Shirley's passing. I am sorry that I can not attend the funeral in my church also. I have known Shirley for a long time as she has been a member of my women's Bible study group, Naomi Circle. I am also a P.E.O. sister and President of my chapter LI. The state President is coming for an Official Visit on Tuesday and that is why I can not attend the memorial services. I will make a cake for the lunch. Iowa State University is also my alma mater.
