Overtta has been in my life for more then 50 years, she will surly be missed. I been thinking about all the good times, starting with the dog Blonde and the pet skunk (LOL) and us having to bundle up in the winter time to go to the outhouse to use the bathroom. WOW that is going back a long time. I had so many good times with Orvetta, she taught me how to sew, cook and garden. Everything she touch she did to perfection. I still remember that dish from her childhood that she cooked on laundry day, and who can forget those snickerdoodle cookies or any of those cookies, it was the first place I went when I came in the house. I think is was the first place we all went when we came in the house and she always had cookies ready but I think about those snickerdoodles a lot. No on can come close to hers. She made the best coleslaw I ever tasted and I watch PBS today because of Overtta. She came to my rescue so many times in my life too many to recall here. All those vacations we went on and most of all, all those stories she told over and over again, and she told them each time like it was the first time you heard them and even thought we did not see each other in a few years. It can not take the place of all those years we were together. I will miss Orvetta. I wish she could of seen the man Dominique grew into and the family he is raising he is a step father to two beautiful children. You don't have to be blood to be family and my heart is so sad that I lost my last parent that I have know for so long. She was an awesome Step Mother could not of had a better on then if I picked one my self. We will miss you Orvetta Love Sherry, Dominique, Val, Lilly and Lee

Dear Duane and family, I'm Larry Neebel's cousin (Kathy). I'm so sorry to hear of Orvetta's passing. I didn't know her personally, only through Larry and her quilts, but from that we knew she was a very special lady. We loved the many quilts that were shared with us at church and felt like we got to know her personally by jumping in to help complete many of her beautiful quilts and then pass them on to bless others, We could see she was a beautiful seamstress as well as a great friend and mother. We send our thoughts and prayers to you all in her passing. Ascension's Threads of Love Kathy Gleason
