I was so sad to visit my grandmother this week and learn of Mr. Mackert's death. I'm so sorry for your loss. My husband Jacob and I loved to talk with him when we would visit Kenwood Park UMC with our grandparents. He was so kind to us and I remember him comforting me after my grandfather died in October 2018. I will miss him very much. We will pray that the peace that comes only from the Lord will guard your hearts and minds as you trust in Him (Philippians 4:7).

Eldon was my boss at Rockwell in 1975. What a great role model, not only as a person but also as a Christian. In 1982 I had a 4 year old son die. From that experience we got a chance to know Beth who helped us get through the grieving process. I left Rockwell in 1997 but stayed in touch with Eldon through the maintenance breakfast meetings. Eldon was always a kind considerate person who always took time to help his fellow man. I always considered Eldon as a friend but also a terrific role model. He was one of the good guys and he will be missed. His passing will leave a hole that cannot be filled.

I was the original Director of the Rockwell Rec Center back in 1986 and Eldon was a godsend. I was a lowly subcontractor trying to deal with all the Rockwell red tape and administrative hierarchy and Eldon took me under his wing and supported my efforts to get the facility up and running in time for the Grand Opening. And for a number of years after that he was my go-to person. I will always cherish his friendship and guidance. RIP! He was a very good man and holds a special place in my heart.

Geri -- so sorry to hear about Mac's passing. I know mom would want to give you a great big hug. Wish we could all be there to do it for her. Sending you our love.

We were so sadden to hear of his passing. Mac was a dear friend to us. We always enjoyed our weekly lunches at Orange Beach, monthly snow bird lunches back home. Also monthly breakfast back home. He was a genuine , gentle man. I am honored to have spent time with him as we walked along the path of life. RIP my dear friend.
