Laurel Jean Louise Williams, 80 of Marion died Thursday March 15, 2018 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services at 10:30 AM on Monday at Echo Hill Presbyterian Church. Rev. Cathy Allen will officiate. Burial at 1:00 PM Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include three sons, Harley (Sheri), Wesley (Susan), Lesley (Robin); daughter Jean (Blair) Wildman; a sister Reda Albaugh and a brother LeeRoy (Karen) Proesch. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ashley, Andy, Brenna, Michelle and Shannon Williams and Amanda Wildman and Marcy Quick and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert and a son Farley. 

Laurel was born on March 30, 1937 in Cedar County the daughter of Erwin and Hilda Beuthien Proesch. She married Delbert L. Williams on October 26, 1956 in Lowden. Delbert passed away in 2016. 

Laurel and Delbert were the owners of Hill-Williams Brothers Inc. and enjoyed working together there for more than 50 years. She was a faithful member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church. Laurel also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and time spent visiting with her beloved family and many friends. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be given to the Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha in Laurel’s name.
