Doris was a part of our family business for over 20 years starting at Famous Recipe Fried Chicken in the early 70s and continuing on in the Chicken Shoppe. She was so much more than an employee; she brought the restaurant to life and kept it in line every day that she worked. Doris connected with our family and every customer in a way that brought everyone into the family. Her dedication went far beyond that of an employee. Our deepest condolences to Doris' family, all of whom were the center of her world. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss. ~ We loved her very much... I have fond memories of Doris, as she was the my first babysitter as a kid, and when I would run in to her at the Chicken Shoppe and then Hy-Vee she would always bring a smile to my face! Praying for comfort for her family.
