I'm so sorry for your loss. We have all heard such great stories about Connie's Uncle Marvin. You're all in my thoughts and prayers.

I hired Marvin about 45 years ago at Ist. Ave. Plymouth.....he kept the staff on their toes and entertained us with his smile and charm.....I often saw him in the Hy-Vee and we would catch up on his achievements, he would depart with " take care boss".....he will be missed, condolences to those he touched.

I was very saddened to learn of Marvin's passing. My condolences to the Divis family. He was a very special person. I grew up in the same neighborhood as the Divis family and knew the Divis brothers well. I saw Marvin often over the years when I went to the Hy Vee Drugstore and and Hy Vee Store. Each time I saw him, I made a point of stopping to talk to him briefly. He always smiled and was very pleasant. My parents lived the street from the Hy Vee Drugstore for over 50 years and after my Father passed away, Marvin would ask me "How is Mom doing?" whenever I ran in to him. I remember several years ago when I saw him at the new Hy Vee store. I asked him how he was doing and he proudly told me that he was having his picture taken and it would on the side of a Hy Vee truck. I congratulated him and told him it was well deserved. Again, he was a very special person.

Marvin seemed to call when I'd be having a bad day. I would answer the phone and he would say, "Hi, Sal, how are you today and I could just see the smile he had on his face as he asked how I was. When I hung up I would feel better and be able to keep goin' and doin' what ever I had to do. I have loved the Divis family for a lot of years and I'm glad they are having a reunion in Heaven today! Peace, Selma

So sorry for the loss of your brother Marvin. I did not know him but it sounds like he was a special person. I am wondering if Betty is one of my former friends that went to Kenwood Elementary and lived on 34th st. let me know if you you would like to hear from me

All who knew Marvin lost a friend. He was caring, friendly and will be remembered for his terrific smile. He was fiercely loyal to family, friends and Hy-Vee. We all learned from Marvin's gracious words and deeds. He would gladly help everyone in any way he could. If he knew your birthday, he remembered it. Marvin did not have a mean cell in his body. We all have multiple personality flaws. If Marvin had any, we never witnessed them. God bless Marvin and his family, who will surely miss him too.

May the Divis family find comfort knowing that all who met Marvin had a soft spot for him. He was truly the hardest worker at Drug Town and we all knew it. Always a smile, always positive, we would all be a little better if were more like Marvin.
