My mother (Gladys Moranville) and Ivah were great friends when Mom lived in Cedar Rapids. They ran a bridge club together. She was always so kind to be as a child, and I stlll have a few gifts she gave me over the years that I cherish. My sister, Gretchen, and I visited her in December 2015--we were so happy to have found her and to have spent time with her. I thought of her today, as it is her birthday. That's when I looked her up and found that she had passed. My condolences to her nieces. She was a great lady and I'm so happy to have known her.

I knew Ivah through my Great Aunt Emilie Steele and Great Uncle Ray Steele. They lived on Rockford Rd Cedar Rapids across from the now baseball stadium. Perhaps they meet through Ray's brother Otis? Otis and Bob friends? I was sorry to miss the services. I remember her as lovely, gracious, and classy lady. I can hear her wonderful AK accent;-) The world has lost a wonderful person.

Aunt Ivah was as close to our family as any blood relative. She and Bob were the family "in loco" to the Breen kids. Bob played Santa on Christmas Eve. Ivah hosted my bridal shower, styled my hair for special occasions. She was my Confirmation sponsor; my spiritual guide and model. I will miss her winning smile and cheerful outlook. There's bound to be a big bridge tournament in Heaven now that Ivah's there! Our condolences to all her family and many friends.

My sympathies to Mrs. Vater's family and to Sharon. This community won't be the same without Ivah's personality.
